About Dynamic navigation links
The Dynamic navigation links feature enables app users to access specific Planon records directly from inside or outside the Planon App, via a generated dynamic QR code.
Dynamic navigation links / dynamic QR codes
In the Dynamic navigation links TSI you can manage generated dynamic navigation links. These links can subsequently be used to generate QR codes with dynamic behavior. See Dynamic vs. static.
When app users scan a generated dynamic QR code with their native device camera, outside the Planon app, the app automatically opens and navigates to the linked item. When the item is updated, the dynamic OR code will still be able to trace it.
Example: The user scans a QR code of a meeting room with a native camera. The Planon app starts, opening the Bookings module and displaying the scanned meeting room.
Dynamic vs. static
 | It is important to understand the distinction between the dynamic OR codes (based on dynamic navigation links) and the static QR codes existing in Planon: • Static QR codes only function when scanned from within the Planon app and can only point to a single record. 'Native' device cameras cannot recognize these QR codes as being specific to Planon and consequently cannot access the Planon app. • Dynamic QR codes (based on dynamic navigation links) will function both inside and outside the Planon app. Dynamic navigation links can have an End date and be deactivated. Which Planon items support dynamic navigation links (QR codes)?
Dynamic links can be generated for the following Planon business objects:
• Assets
• Spaces
• Workspaces (Fixed and Flexible)
• Reservation units
• Personnel
Authorized users should first create the required dynamic navigation links in the TSIs of the business objects that support the functionality. See below for the list of supported business objects. When generated, the dynamic navigation links become visible in the Dynamic navigation links TSI. See Adding dynamic navigation links and Generating and downloading dynamic QR codes for instructions.
