Tabular offline data storage - on 'Edit asset details'
Tabular offline data storage is a technical feature for efficiently downloading commonly used data to the Planon app. In the Assets module this feature is applied to the 'Edit asset details' block. This topic explains why you, as an application manager, should be aware of this technical feature.
To avoid repetitive downloads of the same data for each asset envelope and to optimize the app's performance, the Tabular offline data storage feature is applied to some data downloads in the Assets module. The data downloads that are performed for tabular storage originate from reference fields that contain generic, shared data for assets, such as various types of classification, grouping or energy labels.
In the PMFS app, this specific type of data is displayed on the Edit asset details page, and is also available in offline situations, because it can be downloaded.

The download capacity of the feature is generous, but be aware that maximum volumes apply. The applicable limits are indicated per reference field.
For more information about envelopes in the PMFS app, see Mobile envelopes and working offline.
The following asset-related reference fields are subject to tabular offline data storage:
Technical classification (limit = 2,000 records)
Asset group (limit = 2,000 records)
Asset classification (limit = 2,000 records)
Alternative classification (limit = 2,000 records)
Trade (data limit = 500 records)
Unit of measurement (limit = 500 records)
Energy label (limit = 100 records)
Control certificate (limit = 100 records)
Tabular asset data are downloaded and stored when app users have network connection and:
initially open the Assets module.
select the Refresh action.
