Multiple-selection lists
'Regular' picklists, as described in
Setting field attributes, allow end users to select only one item in the list. In some cases, you may want end users to be able to select multiple items from a list. For more information on how to configure this, see
Linking a multiple-selection list to a business object and
Making a multiple-selection list available.
| You can link any picklist as a multiple-selection list to a business object. |
| Since multiple-selection lists are linked to business objects via free fields, it is impossible to create multiple-selection lists for business objects that do not have free fields. It is also not possible to create multiple-selection lists for the following business objects: Address types, Person types and Cities. |
Examples of multiple-selection lists
• You may want to link personal credentials such as certificates, diplomas and (driving) licenses to people in the Personnel TSI. You can therefore create a multiple-selection list that includes several of the most valued certificates in your organization.
• For the sake of the catering department, dietary wishes of visitors may need to be registered. Visitors may have multiple dietary requirements. In Field definer , you can link a list of dietary choices to the Visitors business object, listing choices such as sugar-free, low sodium, lactose-free, vegetarian, vegan and so on.
