Asset scenarios
Asset scenarios represent different ways of managing an asset during its lifetime.
For example, you may want to compare the costs of replacing an asset earlier with the costs of keeping it in use for a longer period. Comparing scenarios helps you understand how different approaches affect future costs.
After creating an asset scenario, you can use a lifecycle cost calculator to generate projected lifecycle costs. Planon provides a Planon Lifecycle cost calculator that calculates projected maintenance and replacement costs based on the configured asset scenario. Organizations can also implement custom lifecycle cost calculators that use different calculation logic.
For each asset scenario you can link a
cost calculator to calculate the lifecycle costs.
For example:
Scenario A
• Replace after 10 years
• Annual maintenance: €200
Scenario B
• Replace after 15 years
• Annual maintenance: €450
Generating lifecycle costs for both scenarios allows organizations to compare the total projected costs before deciding which strategy is most suitable.
