Cost calculators
Lifecycle cost calculators are used to calculate the expected costs for asset scenarios.
Planon provides a standard calculator for these calculations. Custom calculators can also be made available through PaaP apps. Using calculators verifies that scenarios are calculated in a consistent way.
Based on the replacements costs and base life and the yearly maintenance costs the calculator will calculate the lifecycle costs for 50 years. For example: Asset base life is 15 years, replacement costs are 10.000 euro and the average maintenance costs are 1.000 euro per year.
Planon Lifecycle cost calculator
Planon provides the Planon Lifecycle cost calculator for calculating projected lifecycle costs. This calculator uses the configured Base life, Maintenance costs, and Replacement costs to generate yearly Lifecycle Costs for an Asset Scenario.
• Base life
• Replacement cost
• Maintenance cost
It generates annual maintenance costs and replacement costs when the configured lifecycle ends.
Advanced fields such as criticality are not used by the standard calculator.
| Custom lifecycle cost calculators can use different calculation logic and additional asset attributes, such as Criticality, depending on their implementation. |
