Configuring a layout for distribution points
With the introduction of the Distribution point management TSI, the following procedure can be used to configure layouts for distribution points.
 | With regard to configuring Link actions to products and stock items you should pay particular attention to the actual Link action you select. For your convenience, this procedure supports provides the system names of the relevant actions. |
Procedure
1. In the Layouts TSI, select the Distribution points business object and set it under construction.

2. Go to the Layouts panel.
3. On the Details panel, make sure that the layout is not read-only.
4. Add the Processing method field to the layout.
Good to know: a distribution point can have only one processing method and the field is mandatory!
5. On the Layouts panel, make sure that relevant actions, such as Add, Delete etc. are added.
6. Now, on the same panel, add the following Link actions to the layout:
◦ Link properties [system name: DistributionPoint_Property]
◦ Link stock items [system name: DistributionPoint_Product] - this Link action only works for distribution points in the Planon Stock solution (DASM - Demand and Supply Management). Stock distribution points are only displayed in the Stock TSI.
◦ Link products [system name: BOM_LINK_PRODUCT] - this Link action works for all distribution points, regardless of the selected processing method.
In Layouts, you can configure a similar Link action towards distribution points for the Products business object [system name: BOM_LINK_DISTRIBUTIONPOINT].
7. Set the layout to Completed.
End users will now be able to manage distribution points of various types and link them to properties, products and stock items and vice versa. The selected processing method of the created distribution point ensures that the correct distribution process is used for the various products.
