Data cleaner
When you add the Data cleaner TSI to your navigation panel, this enables you to control the period for which event logs and failed inbound/outbound messages are purged.
Scheduled tasks include a number of tasks that can be configured to purge operational data and system artifacts, such as logs, session data, tasks, background actions, and Event connector messages.
By adding the Data Cleaner TSI to the System Settings navigation panel, you can define purge schedules for the following message types:
Type of message | Default | Range |
|---|
Event Log Cleanup Period | |
Simple event logs | 7 | 1-30 |
Linked event logs | 7 | 1-91 |
Session data | 7 | 1-30 |
Tasks | 7 | 1-30 |
Background actions | 7 | 1-30 |
Event Connector Settings | |
Failed inbound messages | 91 | 1-91 |
Failed raw inbound messages | 91 | 1-91 |
Failed outbound messages | 91 | 1-91 |
Failed raw outbound messages | 91 | 1-91 |
The settings are in days. A day is interpreted as 24 hours and it takes into account the hourly information of scheduled tasks.
| To cause as little stress to your system as possible, we recommend to use an hourly schedule for purging these messages. |
Event logs
To avoid premature loss of data, event logs are split up in Simple and Linked event logs.
• Simple event logs - these are logs that system logs that accumulate quickly and do not require a long retention period.
A simple event log, just stores a message and a severity level (info, warning, or error) without being connected to any particular record.
• Linked event logs - logs for Enterprise Talk or CAD that do require a longer retention period.
A linked event log is a log entry that is tied to a specific item in the system (such as an asset, order, or import definition). This means you can trace the log back to the exact record it belongs to.
