Planon IoT : Planon IoT : About Planon IoT : Settings overview
Settings overview
To connect the Planon IoT Platform, two levels of settings are required:
Portal hierarchy displaying the components per customer.Portal hierarchy displaying the components per customer.
An overall setting for connecting your Planon environment to the IoT portal - IoT system settings. In the diagram, this setting is configured at Environments level
A specific setting for your property set - IoT settings (each property set will have its own settings). In the diagram, this setting is configured at Property sets level. In the Portal application, the property set level is the only level to which users will ultimately have access to (master tenant).
*
To reduce complexity, the levels Root / Customer / Environments remain hidden and this structure is created automatically per customer, but it is useful for understanding the workings of the IoT Platform. This limitation does not apply for users authorized to Jump to Environments.
Time zones
To set up a clear communication between the Planon application and the IoT Platform, time zones must be in sync.
Planon application: time zones are linked to a property (sub-properties inherit the time zone of the parent property).
IoT Platform: time zones are registered on applications level.
To keep this in sync, for each property in the Planon application, an application is created on the IoT platfom end (Applications level).
This happens automatically when you create a digital twin:
for your property in the Planon application
for a business object (e.g. an asset) for your property
*
•    If you do this, your time zone becomes fixed and you can no longer change it to a different time zone.
•    Applications are only created for the parent property (not for a sub).
•    Time stamps in Planon IoT are always shown in the user's time zone and not in the tennant's or application's time zone.
Application
When creating a digital twin for a property that is part of a property hierarchy, the corresponding IoT application is created only for the main property. Data sharing can only take place for properties within the same hierarchical structure.
