Moving devices
By default, Planon IoT users only have access to Property sets level (see Settings overview).
When onboarding devices, these are added at Environments level and should automatically be moved to the the appropriate property set/application.
However, in the following cases, devices could remain at the Environments level:
If for technical reasons devices cannot be moved.
If a device vendor does not include information about where to deploy devices.
To overcome this situation it is therefore necessary to be able to access the Environments level to fix the situation.
Solution
At IoT system settings clicking Jump to Environments will allow users to access this level to manage and move devices to an appropriate application.
*
The Jump to Environments action is authorizable so that you can enable it only for a limited and dedicated group of users.
Precondition
Access to Planon IoT is securely managed by using Keycloak - see also: Launching the IoT Platform. To be able to access levels beyond Property sets, Keycloak must be properly configured.
*
If this is not configured and an existing customer clicks Jump to Environments, a redirect error will occur.
Configuring Keycloak
Procedure
1. Go to the Environment management gadget > SSO tab.
2. Under Keycloak realm, click your Keycloak URL to open the Keycloak console.
3. Sign in to your Keycloak console using the correct credentials.
4. Go to the Planon realm > Clients.
The planon-iot client is automatically created.
5. Click the planon-iot client to open it.
Under Access settings, in the Valid redirect URLs field, only the Applications level is specified.
6. Add a new redirect URL without property set (-bp in the following example).
Example
https://env87645kandl34-dev-bp.ams.planoniot.com/keycloak/callback
https://env87645kandl34-dev.ams.planoniot.com/keycloak/callback
Keycloak now knows that access to this level is allowed too.
By using the Jump to Environments action, you can now jump to this level, select your devices and move them to the appropriate application.
Manually moving devices
If possible, moving devices is automatically arranged.
However, depending on the information a device's vendor has included, this may not be possible and you may need to manually move the device(s) to the appropriate application.

2. At the bottom, click Move The Device.
A dialog box appears.
