App permissions (push notifications and location services)
Some features within the Planon App require enabling of OS level permissions.
After logging in, the user will be asked to accept or reject these permissions.
Upon opening the Planon app for the first time, users will be asked to:
• allow or reject sending push notifications to the device.
• allow or reject the activation of location services (GPS location).
If users grant these permissions, they will receive push notifications and the location services can be used throughout the app.

As of release L134, GPS location coordinates can be displayed in the app's GPS fields. The GPS coordinates fields can be configured on the app and used either as 'read-only' fields or as editable fields. Example: in the Assets module, on a sub web definition > Add asset block you can add the GPS coordinates field [system name Location]. When you select this field, you can set the Is visible field to Yes and similarly make the corresponding action Fill device coordinates visible. Once the field is made editable, app users can enter a latitude and longitude value in the GPS coordinates field, provided they have also activated the location services app permission.
