Free apps
You can install free apps directly from the Planon Marketplace. You don't need to request a license first. When you install a free app, a regular license is created and the app is installed in your environment automatically.
Why free apps
Planon wants to make it as easy as possible for you to get more out of your Planon solution. With direct installation, you can find, install and start using free apps from the Planon Marketplace yourself, whenever you need them, without having to contact Planon first.
You get faster access to new features, more freedom to try out extensions, and a single trusted place to get apps that are verified for your Planon version. Your administrator decides which users can install free apps, so you stay in control.
The Marketplace offers a wide variety of free apps that enable you to extend functionality.
Prerequisite
Installing free apps is not available for everyone, please note the following prerequisites:
• Your environment is L134 or later.
• The Planon Marketplace is enabled in Marketplace settings.
• You are a member of the user group set in Install free apps from marketplace user group.
To install a free app
1. Open the Planon Marketplace and select the free app you want (use the filter on the left).
2. Click Install.
3. In the dialog, enter the required details: last name, email address and requesting account/company.
4. Read and accept the terms and conditions.
5. Click Install to confirm.
The license is created and the app is installed. You can manage the app in AppCenter.
Note
• The Install button is only shown for free apps. Paid apps show Contact me instead.
• If the button is greyed out, either you don't have permission to install free apps, or the app hasn't been verified for your Planon version. Hover over the button to see why.
• If you already have the app, you get a message telling you so.
