Deleting closed lease contract lines
In some cases, for example if there are inaccuracies or functional errors in your contract data, you may want to delete a closed lease contract line. For this purpose, you can use the Delete after closure action. This action allows you to delete lease accounting contract lines after the financial or accounting closure.
*
Given the great impact of the Delete after closure action, authorization to use this action must be limited to one person only, in a specifically configured role.
To use this action, the following preconditions must be met:
the contract line is based on lease accounting;
there is no pending trial closure for the related contract;
none of the related postings have been archived;
the setting Restrict deletion of contracts in Field Definer > Contracts > Business object settings is set to No.
*
For more information on this setting and other contract settings you can make in Field definer , see the Field definer user documentation.
Procedure
1. Select the closed lease accounting contract line that you want to delete.
2. On the action panel, click Delete after closure.
3. Click OK in the confirmation message.

After you have confirmed, Planon:
Deletes the selected contract line and all linked data: contract line history, open and closed financial commitments and accounting commitments, financial events;
Removes all references to this contract line and all references to its financial commitments and accounting commitments;
Creates a reverse entry of all final postings and journal entries. The reverse entry is registered as Final (see Posting and journal entry fields).
The reverse entry of all final postings and journal entries has a copy of the link to the financial/accounting commitment snapshot lines of the original postings and journal entries.
Creates a link to the original posting.
Links a Delete event as a last event to the reverse postings and journal entries and financial event data.
Creates a snapshot record. If the Delete after closure is performed on a date after the last closure date of the contract, a closure date record is created on the first open day of the contract:
- a snapshot record of the contract is created on this closure date
- a snapshot record of the contract line is created on this date
- for the financial and accounting commitments, no snapshot records are created
*
If the Delete after closure is performed on or before the last closure date of the contract, no snapshot records are created.
*
