Changing an asset’s or a building element’s status
You can assign a status to an asset or building element.
Acquired - this status is automatically assigned to a new asset or building element.
In use - select this status for assets / building elements that are actually used and maintained.
Idle - select this status for assets / building elements that are temporarily out of use.
Disposed - only assets / building elements that are definitely disposed of can be transferred to the archive.
Procedure
1. Go to the Assets selection level, click the asset(s)/ building element(s) whose status you want to change.
*
To change the status of several assets/building elements simultaneously, use Action on selection. For details on using Action on selection, see Fundamentals.
2. On the Status transitions action panel, click the required status.
Please note that changing the status to Disposed of has consequences for any associated (maintenance) activity definitions. They are either:
Deleted, if no maintenance orders have been generated yet.
Updated, if maintenance orders have already been generated. The (maintenance) activity definition’s end date-time will be brought forward to the end date-time of the last generated order.
*
Depending on which Planon solution you use to maintain assets, see either Planned Maintenance or Activity Planner for more information.
