Activity sequence worker
Activity sequence workers automatically assign an execution sequence to maintenance activities generated within a PPM order. Instead of manually defining the order of execution, the selected worker calculates the sequence based on predefined criteria, such as floor sequence, activity start date, or a combination of both.
The calculated sequence is stored in the Sequence field of the maintenance activity. Maintenance activities displayed in back-office applications and mobile solutions are sorted using this value.
An activity sequence worker is applied during PPM order generation. You can select a sequence worker in the following places:
• In the Generate (Clustered) Orders dialog when generating orders from one or more activity definitions.
• On the PPM Profile, to define a default sequence worker for scheduled or profile-based order generation.
Planon provides the following standard Activity Sequence Workers:
• Floor sequence worker
• Activity date sequence worker
Option | Description |
|---|
Floor → Activity Date | Groups work by floor before considering activity dates. Suitable when technicians complete all work on one floor before moving to another. Example: Technician spends the whole week on Floor 1. Complete Monday, Tuesday and Friday work while remaining on that floor. Useful for minimizing travel. |
Activity Date → Floor | Groups work by activity date first, then orders activities by floor. Suitable when activities must be completed on their scheduled dates. Example: Daily inspections. Monday's work must be completed Monday. Tuesday's work must wait until Tuesday. Useful for recurring daily activities. |
Your organization can also implement custom Activity Sequence Workers to support organization-specific sequencing requirements.
