Knowledge base
Knowledge Base is a Web Configuration module that enables you to share knowledge base information via a web form. A knowledge base is a repository of frequently encountered issues, symptoms and their possible solutions.
A Knowledge base web form makes your existing knowledge base available to Web Configuration users. It contains three separate blocks:
• The Search block, defining the part of the page users use for searching through the knowledge base.
• Users can search by entering keywords or can browse through the knowledge base category structure.
• Knowledge Base will search by using the first ten keywords entered. It will ignore all keywords in the list of excluded keywords.
• The List block, defining the part of the page on which the list of knowledge base items is presented.
• The Details block, defining the page that is used for showing the information about a single knowledge base item.
Knowledge base definition
The definition of a web page that allows end users to search for knowledge base items and read the items’ details.
| It is recommended to place Knowledge Base - Category above the Search keywords field, because if you type keywords in the Search keywords field, searching is done within the selected category. |
| For more information on knowledge base categories, see the Knowledge Base user documentation. |
