External content
With the
Web Configuration External content module you can create a web definitions that reference information from external sources. These definitions can be used to provide quick access to external sites from the Planon
homepage or other entry points.
Limitation
The ability to display external content inside a homepage gadget depends on several technical factors:
• Privacy Sandbox / third-party cookie changes
When Privacy Sandbox–related settings are enabled, or when third‑party cookies are blocked by the browser, embedding external content in an iframe may no longer work as expected.
• Security headers on the external site (X-Frame-Options / CSP) Many external websites explicitly block embedding in iframes by using headers such as X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN or Content Security Policy frame-ancestor rules. If such headers are present, the external site will refuse to load in a homepage gadget.
Because of these limitations, Planon cannot guarantee that any arbitrary external website can be displayed inside a homepage gadget.
In environments affected by Privacy Sandbox or restrictive security headers, the recommended approach is to open the external content in a separate browser tab or window.
