Trusted services
A trusted service is a service that is explicitly registered in Planon as trusted. For each trusted service, a certificate is configured. This certificate:
Is linked to a specific service
Corresponds to a unique key pair that is only available to that service
Using this certificate and key pair, the service can authenticate itself by sending signed information with each request. If the signature is valid, Planon Software Suite allows the service to act as the configured Planon user, with that user’s authorizations. Authentication takes place for every request from the service.
The Planon application itself uses a predefined set of trusted services that are automatically created and configured by the installer. These are the trusted services that Planon’s own components use to call to securely run business logic.
Trusted services can also be added manually.
