Property sets
A property set is a logical partition of business data within a Planon environment. It contains a collection of properties, such as buildings and building complexes, together with the operational data associated with those properties.
A property set is more than a convenient grouping of buildings. It creates a separate data domain within a shared Planon installation. Each property set has its own operational data and can also have property-set-specific settings. However, all property sets continue to use the same Planon platform, metadata model, and application framework.
Depending on their authorization, users can access one or more property sets. The data displayed in the application depends on the selected property set.
Important
Property sets provide strong data segregation, but they do not create fully independent Planon systems. Some settings, including workflow and feature settings, remain shared across property sets.
| • Deleting a property set, including its many properties and linked data, may take a long time. • For information on granting user groups authorization to a specific property set, refer to Authorization. |
