Virtual Devices
Virtual Devices generate and periodically send predefined random data events from inside the IoT Platform Server for application testing or demo purposes only.
Virtual Devices can be added using the IoT Platform Portal (as described below).

Creating and using virtual devices is governed by a feature flag, which is a paid feature.
Ingesting Events from a Virtual Device
Procedure
1. For instructions about how to define a Virtual Device Manifest, see Adding a Virtual Device.
2. To place this Virtual Device Manifest on the IoT Platform Server, click the Devices button in the left pane to display a list of Devices.
3. Click the Add Device Add button button.
4. Click the New Virtual Device New virtual device button button. The following displays:

1. Copy and then paste the manifest code into the Events field.
2. Click Done.
