Ending a job and signing off
If you have completed your job and entered the relevant details and comments, proceed as follows:
Procedure
1. Either tap: Temporary fix, if you want to technically complete the job at a later stage;
2. Or tap: End work, to actually finish this job.
The End work overview is displayed:
3. If your organization is working with the Multiple work assignments feature, and if the job (work assignment) you are working on is the key work assignment, you are designated 'main responsible engineer' for the completion of the order. You will see both an End my work and a Finish order action button on the 'End work' Overview.
◦ Select End my work if the order cannot be completed yet, because there still is unfinished work on the order. Now, there are two possible scenarios: 1. There are other key work assignments related to the order, which are not finished yet. In the back-office, the order will remain In progress (or a comparable, configured status). 2. No other key work assignments are planned or in progress. In the back-office, the order will be set to On hold (or a comparable, configured status), and a new work assignment is created when the order is reassigned.
◦ Select Finish order if all work is done and the order can be completed. In the back-office, the order will be set to Technically completed (or a comparable, configured status).
4. If your app settings require your signature, sign off and tap End work in the Engineer's signature pop-up:
5. In the Sign-off overview screen, let the second signatory (usually the customer) tap Sign off and sign for the job’s completion.
It depends on your app configuration which type of Sign-off overview screen is displayed: a summary (see below image) or a comprehensive screen. A summary (below image) lists basic job information, your comments, labor hours, materials and, if configured, fault handling observations and incomplete work. A comprehensive screen also lists asset information, questionnaires and all maintenance activities.
| As of release L41, materials are displayed as two distinctive categories: Used materials and Required materials. Required materials include Ready to pick up, Reserved and Requested materials. |
| If the Refuse action is enabled on your app, customers or other signatories can refuse to sign off, when they are not satisfied with the work. They must give a reason for their refusal. The job is subsequently sent to the back-office and moved to the Technically completed status. The refusal, the signatory's reason for refusal and any comments are registered in a communication log and sent to the back-office, where appropriate follow-up actions can be taken. |
