Core TSIs : Planned Maintenance : Working with Maintenance Planner : Deep copying an activity definition
Deep copying an activity definition
You can duplicate an activity definition in a service plan, including any linked schedules and expected costs. The following procedure for deep copying is described for the Planned Maintenance TSI, but it is the same in the Maintenance library for standard activity definitions, in the Assets TSI for asset activity definitions or in the Contracts TSI for contract activity definitions.
*
If you only want to make a basic copy of an activity definition – without the linked schedule, expected costs and any checklist items - use the Copy option on the action panel.
Procedure
1. Go to Maintenance Planner > Activity definitions.
2. Select the activity definition you want to deep copy.
3. On the action panel, click Deep copy.
4. In the Number of copies field, fill in how many deep copies you want to make.
5. To copy any expected costs, select the relevant options (Hour -, Material - and / or Additional costs).
6. Click OK.
A comprehensive copy is made of the activity definition. The following elements are included in the deep copy:
The selected expected costs;
Linked checklist items (if applicable);
Linked schedule (with recurring and non-recurring activities).
7. If required, modify the deep copy’s data, such as its Description or Translated names.
8. Click Save.
