Core TSIs : Planned Maintenance : Scheduling automatic generation of maintenance orders
Scheduling automatic generation of maintenance orders
Generating maintenance orders as an automated, scheduled task (for example on a monthly basis), reduces human intervention and errors to a minimum.
If you use this feature, verify that newly added maintenance activities are included without users having to modify the criteria set for the scheduled task. Modifications to the maintenance plan, such as canceled or postponed activities are also reckoned with.
Each time a 'batch' of maintenance jobs has been generated, these can be assigned to teams / tradespeople / field engineers through Resource Planner and subsequently picked up and executed via a Planon app (Planon AppSuite > My jobs module or PMFS Live app > Work assignments). For more information, see Resource planner.
Example: A maintenance team lead wants to schedule auto-generated PPM orders for all three-monthly Lift maintenance activities. This should be done until the end date of the maintenance plan, so there will be no need to rely on human intervention to generate these orders every three months.

The setting Max. no. of maintenance activities per PPM order in Field definer allows Planon administrators to limit the number of maintenance activities generated per PPM order. See Specifying a maximum number of maintenance activities per PPM order
