Archiving / de-archiving service plans
You can archive any type of service plans in the following TSI's:
Standard service plan can be archived in Maintenance library.
Asset service plan can be archived in Assets and Assets Pro .
Contract service plan can be archived in Contracts .
Service plan can be archived in Planned Maintenance
When a service plan is archived, all related activity definitions are also archived.
Facts about archiving:
You cannot add activity definitions to an archived service plan.
You cannot link archived service plans to assets. If the service plan is first linked to an asset and then archived, the asset will no longer be visible in the linked service plan.
If you archive an asset service plan for a particular asset and then deep copy the asset, the archived service plan is not included in the deep copy.
If a contract service plan is created and archived in Addresses , and the contract-based maintenance plan is compiled in Planned Maintenance , service plans cannot be created for the archived contract service plan.
If a standard service plan is created and archived in Maintenance library, , and the property-based maintenance plan is compiled in Planned Maintenance , the service plan cannot be created for the archived standard service plan (the archived standard service plans and archived asset service plans are not included.)
Facts about updating archived activity definitions
The End date-time field of activity definitions will be updated in the following scenarios:
If an activity definition or a service plan of any asset is archived in Assets Pro and the field Is planned maintenance required? is set to No for that asset, the activity definitions that have no orders will be removed and the End date-time field of maintenance activity definitions that have orders will be updated.
If an activity definition or service plan is archived in Assets Pro and the assets Property field is edited, the activity definitions of that asset will be ended and the End date-time field is filled.
If the Property in the activity definition is edited in Planned Maintenance and compiled, the following happens:
If you archive an activity definition and then compile the maintenance plan, the activity definition is ended and a new activity definition is created, which is not archived (because the service plan is not archived).
If you archive a service plan and then compile the maintenance plan, it will end the activity definition and create a new activity definition that is archived, because the service plan is archived.
Facts about de-archiving (retrieving):
If a (standard) service plan is de-archived, the application will ask for confirmation to also retrieve the service plan related activity definitions. If you select Yes, all related (compiled) activity definitions are also de-archived. If you select No, only the (standard) service plan is de-archived.
You cannot de-archive the activity definitions if the service plan remains archived.
