Using background actions
Background actions are actions that are run in the background on the application server, while you continue with your work. For example, you can perform other tasks while closing financial commitments.
For (lease accounting) contracts, the following actions can be run as a background action:
Action | Business object(s) |
---|
Trial close & freeze (financial commitments & accounting commitments) | Contracts |
Trial close (financial commitments & accounting commitments) | Contracts |
Delete trial closure | Contracts |
Close acct. data | Contracts |
Close fin. data | Contracts |
Index | Contracts |
Recalculate commitments | Lease contract lines |
Status transition to Active | Contracts, Contract lines |
Procedure
1. Select the elements to which you want to apply the action or status transition, for example the contracts you want to close financially.
2. On the data panel, click Action on selection.
The Action on selection dialog box appears and displays relevant actions available for the selected elements.
3. Select the action or status transition that you want to apply to the selected elements. Planon will now ask you if you want to run the selected action as a background action.
4. Click Yes to confirm.
The background job is now started. The progress and results of the actions executed as background actions can be verified in the
Background actions TSI (for more information on this TSI, see
Background actions).
