Completely removing lease accounting contracts
Planon provides a feature for the complete removal of lease accounting contracts. With this feature, you can perform a total contract removal, eliminating not only the contract itself but also its related data. This process is known as a 'cascaded delete,' which means that also all related elements like contract options, contract lines, snapshots and postings (excluding counter-bookings) are deleted. This 'cascaded delete' process can be performed as a background action. For more information, see
Using background actions.
Procedure
1. Earmark all contracts that must be removed.
2. Go to the Contracts selection level and select the lease accounting contract(s) you want to remove.
3. On the action panel, click Add modification.
4. Go to the Contract earmarked for destruction? field and set it to Yes.
| Make sure your system administrator has made this field available on the Contracts layout. |
5. Create a user report to retrieve all earmarked contracts. This is an optional step, but strongly recommended by Planon.
6. Now all contracts are earmarked, go to the Contracts selection level, and from the action panel, choose Advance delete to execute the complete removal of the selected lease accounting contract(s).
A pop-up will now appear, showing the number of earmarked contracts. You will be asked to confirm the permanent deletion of the contracts and their associated data, including contract line data, postings and snapshots. Once you confirm your selection, the deletion process will start.
Disclaimer: Planon will not be able to support any unintentional contract removal. It is strongly recommended to contact Planon and seek advice before using this feature in a production environment. Data linked to non-lease accounting contracts (contract lines), including invoices, cash flows, turnover rent settings, etc., will remain unaffected by this feature and will not be deleted.
