Amount changes and indexation
The amount registered on a contract line represents the agreed amount that you pay or receive for the use of an asset. During the life of a lease, this amount can change due to manual adjustments or indexation.
Planon supports the indexation of contract amounts using various indexation methods. All historical amount changes — whether caused by manual updates or indexation — are recorded by Planon in separate
life cycles, ensuring a complete audit trail of the contract amount over time.
With the
Price level amounts feature, you can register future agreed price changes at the current price level. These price level amounts serve as a reference for indexation. Whenever the contract is indexed, Planon automatically recalculates and adjusts the amounts accordingly. For more information, see
Registering a price level amount.
When indexing or reindexing a lease, Planon checks all amount changes after the indexation date. In case of an indexed amount or a price level amount, Planon will (re)index the amount.
For each amount change, Planon automatically populates the Reason for price change field on the contract line with one of the following values:
• Manual indexation
• Amount changes due to indexation
• Price level amount
• Price level amount changes due to indexation
• Not indexed: threshold value not reached
This field helps clarify why an amount has changed and supports traceability and reporting.
