Template
An SDI definition comes with a template (Excel) that can be used to import data into Planon.
When opened in Excel, a specific layout will be visible showing all fields of the layout and their properties, guidelines that will help you when filling out the data.
The cell colors used in the sheet have a specific meaning.
• Green: field properties.
• Red: mandatory field/part of ID field.
• Yellow: specific format is required (picklists and statuses). When hovering your mouse over the field, the possible values will be displayed in a tooltip.
• Blue: field name.
• Orange: fields that are needed to set a reference. All fields should be filled in to be able to set the reference.
Notes
• Do not edit the header, this information is required for the import.
• Do not add columns to the sheet - this will invalidate the template. If the layout has changed, you should generate a new template.
• If you leave an Excel cell empty and import it, it will overwrite the current value in the application.
• If you want to leave a cell empty, but do not want to overwrite the value in the Planon application, fill the cell with: [IGNORE].
• When using [IGNORE], the cell will be skipped during import. This applies to all fields, including reference fields.
• Updating referenced BO fields in templates
When a template includes fields from a referenced business object (for example, Department.Code and Department.Name in a Person template), the following rules apply:
◦ All fields filled: The referenced fields will be updated.
◦ Only some fields filled: None of the referenced fields will be updated.
