Automated processing of renewal options
Renewal options can be processed automatically using an alert definition. To enable this functionality, first configure the contract for automatic renewal and then create an alert definition.
1. In the Contracts TSI, on the Contracts selection level, select the Automatic renewal? checkbox.
2. In the Alerts TSI, create an action definition. The action definition consists of:
An alert condition based on a specific business object (either service contract or lease contract), and a filter to automatically select the contract
An action (Automatic renew)
A schedule
A start date-time
*
For more information on the alerts functionality, see Alerts.
3. Click Save.
4. On the Action definitions action panel, set the action definition to Active.
Once the action definition is active, Planon processes renewal options according to the specified schedule.
Renewal options are processed as follows:
If the date specified in the Ultimate notification date field has passed, and the renewal option is Active and has not yet been applied, Planon automatically applies the renewal option.
