Setting geo-information for floors
It is possible to select two points in a floor drawing and add their GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude).
With this feature, you can specify geo-information for floors. This information can then (potentially) be used to derive other locations within a drawing. As a result, you can optimize processes, such as:
Creating more efficient cleaning schedules based on location.
Placing departments closer together.
Configuration
In order to use this feature, a step action needs to be added.
1. In TSIs, select Spaces & workspaces and set it Under construction.
2. Select the Components level > Floors step.
3. Under Linked step actions, move Set geo location of floor plan to In use.
4. Click OK to close the dialog and set the TSI to Completed.
5. Log out / log in.
To specify the geo-information of a floor, proceed as follows.
Procedure
1. Go to Spaces & workspaces, select the property for which you want to add a geo location.
GPS coordinates are registered by floor. Later, it will be possible to derive the GPS coordinates of spaces on that floor from those of the floor.
2. Go to Components level > Floors step.
This is where the step action was added earlier.
3. Click the CAD Integrator view and select a floor.
Your drawing is displayed in the data panel.
4. On the CAD Integrator menu, click Set geo location of floor plan.
A message appears that prompts to add two points.
*
It is a best practice to select two opposite diagonal points in your drawing (in a rectangle, this would be corners).
5. Click Next, you are prompted to specify the first reference point.
6. Click the Plus icon (Plus icon) - the GPS information appears for the first reference point.
7. Double-click the marker (Marker icon) and drag it to the first point of the drawing and enter the latitude and longitude of this reference point.
The geo information:
Must have a minimum of 6 digits
Can have a maximum of 10 decimal places
In addition:
The latitude must be between -90 and 90 degrees
The longitude must be between -180 and 180 degrees
8. Click the Plus icon for the second reference point, drag the marker to the right spot and provide the latitude and longitude.
9. Click Save to apply your changes.
A Compass icon (Compass icon) will appear in your drawing as an indication that the drawing is GPS enabled.
Optionally, you can rotate your drawing to ensure that North is pointing in the right direction.
