Core TSIs : CAD Import : Importing AEC objects only
Importing AEC objects only
Filtering during CAD import is limited to either a Layer or a Block. There was no way to specifically target AEC objects (like doors) from a layer to be imported as assets without affecting the default import behavior.
Now, a space manager can select a specific AEC object type to import only those objects from a selected layer as assets.
Configuration
• On the Business object mapping definition, select the AEC object field near the Block field. Its value can either be Nothing (as in empty) or AEC door.
• The AEC object and Block fields are mutually exclusive. Selecting a value in one will automatically clear the other and make it read-only.
• The system picklist is designed to be extendable, meaning more AEC object types can be added in future updates.
How it works
The import behavior is determined by the combination of selections:
1. AEC Object + Layer: Imports all matching AEC objects (e.g., all AEC doors) on the selected layer.
2. Block + Layer: Imports only Blocks with the specified name on that layer (existing behavior).
3. Both Empty + Layer: Imports all supported Blocks and AEC objects from the selected layer (existing behavior).
4. UI Enforcement: The interface ensures that only one filtering method (Block or AEC object) is active at a time to prevent conflicting import rules.
