Alarm
A signal that alerts the user about events such as due dates, appointments, reservations, orders that need to be closed, emergencies, and so on.
Callout
When an alarm is triggered (an alarm condition is met), the Alarm Alarm icon button on the toolbar lights up (it shows an orange indicator with a count). On clicking this button, a callout pop-up opens, acting as a quick-glance layer between the button and the full TSI, allowing the user to triage alarms at a glance and navigate more precisely:
Functional
In-context alarm list — Displays each alarm with its title, TSI name (as subtext), and an icon, enabling you to assess the situation without leaving your current context.
Direct navigation to specific records — Selecting an alarm opens the corresponding TSI with the relevant record(s) already in view. This provides more targeted navigation compared to the existing behavior, which only opens the TSI.
Manage Alarms link — Located at the bottom of the callout, this link preserves the existing behavior by opening the full My alarms TSI (as configured in System Settings > Alert Settings).
Priority-based sorting — Sorts alarms by priority (highest first), and by creation date (newest first) for alarms with the same priority.
Snoozed alarms excluded — Automatically filters out snoozed alarms from the callout list.
Technical
Dynamic resizing — Expands the list to fit the available screen height. When the maximum height is reached, a scrollbar is displayed.
WCAG-compliant keyboard navigation — Supports full keyboard interaction, including Tab/Shift +Tab, arrow keys, Enter, and Escape. Pressing Escape closes the callout and returns focus to the alarms button.
Update behavior — Does not refresh the list while the callout is open. Updates to the list and the alarm count icon are applied only after the callout is closed and reopened.
Empty and loading states — Opens the callout even when no alarms are available (so the Manage Alarms link remains accessible) and displays a loading indicator while data is being retrieved.
My alarms
On the My alarms selection step, you can select an alarm and navigate to the TSI that triggered it.
Alarms may be added either for:
Individual users
A user group
Alarms may be added to particular elements, such as orders or contracts. You can add, prioritize, enable, modify, delete, forward, and also snooze alarms.
