Condition-based planning
The Deterioration curve planning worker can be used to plan activity definitions based on the aggregated score for the related maintenance object on a specific topic. This worker has the following settings:
• Confirmation required: If set to Yes, planned activities moved by this worker are set to the status Confirmation required. If set to No, the status remains Planned.
• Deterioration curve: The deterioration curve to be used.
• Topic: The topic of the aggregated scores to be used.
Execution of this worker can be scheduled using the Alerts TSI with the alert condition Classname Contains Deterioration curve planning.
When executed, the worker retrieves the last aggregated score for the maintenance object of the activity definition (Property, Space, Asset, or Rentable unit) on the specified topic. It uses the deterioration curve and planning details to calculate and move the next planned activity date. If Confirmation required is set to Yes, then the status of the moved planned activity is set to Confirmation required. If there is an incomplete order for the activity definition, the worker does nothing.
Note | • The activity definition must have planning details with a Monthly or Yearly schedule; otherwise, the execution will fail. • The scheduling method of the planning details should be set to Fixed, verifying that both the upcoming planned activity and subsequent planned activities are moved. |
Example
Activity definition for an asset; for example a car has a start date of 01-01-2024, scheduled with a frequency of every 10 years and a Fixed scheduling method.
The worker has these settings.
• Confirmation Required: Yes
• Topic: Technical condition
• Deterioration curve: STD Standard
A planned activity is generated on 01-01-2024. In the planboard you can also see a planned activity on 01-01-2034, 01-01-2044 and 01-01-2054.
An aggregated topic score is recorded for the car with a score date of 01-02-2024 and a topic score of 3. According to the standard deterioration curve, the deterioration factor for a score of 3 is 0.75. This means the remaining life of the asset is 0.25 X 10 years, or 2.5 years. Therefore, the next execution date is 2.5 years after the Aggregated Score date, which results in 01-08-2026.
The planned activity with planned date 01-01-2024 is moved to 01-08-2026. Since the scheduling method is Fixed, all the subsequent planned activities also move.
